I was using my new GPS on my last vacation trip, since we were just playing it by ear we used it to locate some lodgings whenever we needed them. I found Taupo hotels easily using this method. If had I been on a shorter vacation, I think I might have wanted to do my bookings online, rather than hope we would find proper rooms when needed. It is rather risky if you are traveling with your family, and you don’t want to be caught without overnight lodgings with the kids. As an adult traveling without them, and as we didn’t travel at peak tourist season we had fairly good luck with this method.
