When my great aunt died, none of us new what to do.  We knew her, but we had no idea about her money, or her possessions, and we certainly did not know what to do with them.  We called a probate attorney to help us figure out who should get what and so forth.  We were lucky, because the deceased did a great job of spelling out where she wanted things to go.  We did not have any arguing or family fighting because of her well thought out planning.  I hope that when I go, I will have had the sense to have a detailed and thought out will and testament.
