There are many advantages which would make the introduction of electronic textbooks a good idea in the nation’s schools. At the moment, the average textbook is updated only once every seven years! that means that our students could be working with information that is way out of date. Obviously, storing textbooks in digital format makes them much easier to update – it’s just like revising a Word document or spreadsheet after all. There are other benefits – not least of which would be the fact that young school children would have a lot less weight to carry around in their backpacks.
