If and when you decide that it’s time to put your Horse For Sale, make sure that you carefully check out any prospective buyer so that the horse will end up in a great home, where there is security, love, safety, and an overall environment that is best for the horse.  You will have to show the buyers the registration and pedigree papers at the showing and allow the buyer(s) to ride the horse and ask questions. Make sure you answer them completely and honestly. If you have a gut feeling that the buyer may not be the right person to own your horse, or that they might not treat the horse the way it should be treated,  probe the buyer in a nice way to see why you are getting those vibes.  Always be open and honest about the horse and point out the little extra things that you love about the animal, the tricks and all the positive aspects of owning this horse.  If you follow your heart and watch closely how the prospective buyer treats the horse,  their attitude in general about the horse, the questions they might or might not ask, this will tell you much about them and if they are really qualified to own this horse, your most prized possession.
