Cherished Number Plates for names

Initially registration numbers were selected for the owner’s initials, this trend continued for many years until people became more imaginative and tried to buy numbers depicting their name. Short names such as Lyn, Sue and Joe were easily formed but longer names were more tricky. When text speak arrived it became easier as numbers could be used in place of letters so a name such as Damon could be spelt using D4 MON or D8 MON. When the new style registrations arrived longer names became possible, such as JO51 HUA for Joshua.
